Women who, on being properly informed, organize themselves into groups and are desirous of saving a monthly amount, however small, attesting to their determination are counted in as participants of the Women's Development Programme. But there are also other opportunities for participation – meetings, training events, social change initiatives. For the purposes of training, targets have been worked out based on certain assumptions. In the case of gender courses involving men and women, for instance, 30 per cent of the group members are aimed at. The idea is to have a critical mass of men being gender-friendly in the community. Many such bases change frequently and so do the targets. Here is the latest update.
